7 Questions That Need To Be Answered in 'Killing Eve' Season 4

Sadly, Killing Eve is coming to an end after four seasons in February 2022. With a little while to wait for the season premiere on Sunday, February 27, AMC and BBC America have been keeping fans on their toes with first look images, teaser clips, and now, an official trailer.

If the latest content is anything to go by, Killing Eve fans are sure in for a treat, but as we await the arrival of the final season, there are more questions than answers in the story of Eve (played by Sandra Oh) and Villanelle (Jodie Comer).

After re-watching the Season 4 trailer and recapping Season 3, Newsweek has a full list of the questions that need to be answered in Season 4 of Killing Eve below.

7 Questions That Need To Be Answered in Killing Eve Season 4

1. Will Eve and Villanelle Ever Be Together?

At the end of Season 3, Eve and Villanelle finally came face to face, where Eve finally admitted she had a much darker side to herself and confessed Villanelle brings out the "monster" inside of her.

While Eve wasn't so mad about being a bad person anymore, Villanelle was and wanted to stop being an assassin for good.

The pair decided to part ways on Tower Bridge in London but as they walked away, they both looked back at each other, suggesting things were not over after all.

The trailer for Season 4 flashes back to the moment they were standing back to back on Tower Bridge, suggesting Season 4 will pick off exactly where Season 3 left off, but will Eve and Villanelle ever work things out between them, in both a professional or even a romantic sense?

Hopefully, they find some peace (and happiness) in Season 4.

2. Will Carolyn Kill or Be Killed?

MI6 agent Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) is no stranger to killing, having shot her coworker and undercover spy for The Twelve Paul (Steve Pemberton) in Season 3. She is also out for revenge, after learning the Twelve played a role in her beloved son Kenny's (Sean Delaney) death.

In the trailer, Carolyn can be heard saying: "Do you ever think what might have happened if we hadn't done what we did? People like us aren't made for happy lives with happy endings."

Is this a sign of what is to come or will Carolyn continue to outsmart everybody around her and live to see another day?

One thing is for sure when Twelve boss Hélène (Camille Cottin) finds out Paul was killed at the hands of Carolyn, there is a risk she could find herself as the Twelve's next target.

3. Does Villanelle Kill Eve?

In the trailer for Killing Eve Season 4, Villanelle and Eve, who appears to be injured, are seen side-by-side on a beachfront cliff.

Eve pulls up alongside Villanelle in her mobile scooter and asks Villanelle if she wants a ride. Not even a second later, Eve is missing from the shot, and Villanelle is spotted riding Eve's scooter, solo.

Will Villanelle kill Eve in the end? Eve did stab Villanelle in the Season 1 finale, meaning Eve's death at the hands of Villanelle would bring their story round to a full-circle moment.

4. Will Kenny's Girlfriend Get Revenge?

In the Season 3 finale, double agent Konstantin (Kim Bodnia) confessed to Carolyn he was on the rooftop when Kenny died but insisted he had fallen after getting spooked by Konstantin, who had warned him The Twelve were closing in on him. Konstantin also shared he had offered Kenny a position within The Twelve to save his life.

Whether Konstantin was telling the truth or not, we may never know but judging by the trailer for Season 4, it looks like his past misdemeanors may be catching up with him.

If you look closely, it appears Konstantin has been pushed into the river by a woman who closely resembles Kenny's girlfriend Audrey, played by Ayoola Smart. Moments later, the trailer flashes to an angry-looking Audrey, marching alongside a very similar riverbank.

Whether this is just clever editing or if Audrey is genuinely out to get revenge for Kenny's death, we will hopefully have the answers in Season 4.

5. Who Are The Twelve?

For the past three seasons, Villanelle has been working for a mysterious organization called The Twelve. In Season 3, we met her former handler, Dasha (RIP), and her boss Helene but audiences have still never learned what exactly The Twelve want.

With the show coming to an end, the truth is expected to come out, and hopefully, the ringleader of The Twelve will be revealed.

6. Is Konstantin Kenny's Father?

We all know Carolyn has had her fair share of questionable flings, including sleeping with the enemy Konstantin.

As Carolyn investigated her son's death, she asked Konstantin why Kenny made a phone call to him the day before he died. It is very likely Kenny was asking Konstantin why so much money had gone missing from The Twelve's accounts, but Konstantin confessed to Carolyn, Kenny was actually phoning to ask if he was his father.

Konstantin admitted to Carolyn he told Kenny he was not sure, leading to Carolyn throwing Konstantin out of the car and onto the side of the road, suggesting she may have something to hide

With Konstantin potentially being Kenny's father, it would be a very dark twist if he turned out to be Kenny's killer.

7. What Ever Happened To Hugo?

With Killing Eve ending, hopefully, fans will finally find out whatever happened to Hugo (Edward Bluemel) back in Season 2. Did he survive his injuries or did he die?

Fans will remember in Season 2, Eve and Hugo were working together in Rome to keep tabs on Villanelle, when armed men from the Twelve ambushed the apartment looking for Eve.

However, they came across Hugo and shot at him, leading Eve to find an injured Hugo lying outside the hotel bedroom door.

At first, Eve did tend to his injuries but left him to go and find Villanelle but when she returned, Hugo's body was gone and the crime scene cleaned up.

Since Season 2, Hugo's fate has never been addressed and fans have been waiting for answers ever since.

Killing Eve Season 4 premieres Sunday, February 27 on BBC America and Monday, February 28 on AMC.
