A person critically injured in a house fire Thursday night in Gloucester Township was rescued from the home by an alert neighbor prior to arrival of first responders, officials said.
The fire broke out around 10 p.m. on the 500 block of Pasadena Drive, Gloucester Township police said.
Firefighters dealt with heavy smoke and contained the fire to the rear of the one-story home.
Emergency workers treated the injured person at the scene before the resident was flown to a Philadelphia hospital in critical condition. No one else was in the home when the fire started.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though it is not considered suspicious.
Gloucester Township police didn’t have additional details on the rescue or the resident’s condition early Friday morning.
