A man and woman who were killed in a chaotic Mandeville shooting involving police were identified Sunday by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office as 46-year-old David Vang and 48-year-old Laina Lee.

Vang and Lee were shot and killed Friday during a welfare check with the Mandeville Police Department. Officers were dispatched that evening to a home in the 700 block of Heavens Drive, where they said they found Lee screaming.

When Lee ran outside to tell the officers that a man was threatening her, Vang appeared and shot Lee multiple times, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.

A shocked Vang with a Taser after asking him to drop his weapon. When Vang pointed the gun at the officer, another opened fire on Vang.

Both Vang and Lee were transported to a hospital, where they later died.
