Eighty-eight New Orleans-area companies were recently honored as part of The Times-Picayune’s annual program to determine the top places to work across the region.
The Top Workplaces competition seeks to identify stellar companies based on independent, anonymous surveys of their employees. The reception to honor the winners was held June 20 at the Higgins Hotel in New Orleans. Kim Boyle, a partner at the Phelps Dunbar law firm, emceed the event, which drew a crowd of around 300 people.

The competition annually names three top employers in the small, medium and large businesses categories.
Gulf Coast Bank and Trust Co. was named the top workplace in the large businesses category, reserved for businesses with 400 or more employees. Audubon Engineering Co. took the top ranking in the medium businesses category, for companies with 125-299 employees. And Del Sol Consulting rose to the top in the small businesses category, which is for businesses with fewer than 125 employees.
Other winners were Laitram LLC and St. Tammany Parish government in the large businesses category, OnPath Federal Credit Union and RNGD in the medium-sized category, and LAMMICO and Louisiana Technology Group in the small businesses category.
Each year, The Times-Picayune partners with Energage, an employee research and consulting firm based in Philadelphia, to run the program. The Top Workplaces competition is now in its 10th year. In addition to the overall winners, a number of companies and employees received special awards.
Guy Williams, of Gulf Coast Bank and Trust; Wes Palmisano, of RNGD; and Blythe Dorris, of Del Sol, received leadership awards.
OnPath Federal Credit Union received the Direction Award. Audubon Engineering received the Managers Award. Capital One Financial Corp. received the New Ideas Award. Raising Cane’s received the Doers Award.
Northshore Rehabilitation Hospital received the Meaningfulness Award. Home Instead Northshore received the Values Award. Globalstar received Clued In Senior Management Award. LAMMICO received the Communication Award.
Laitram received the Appreciation Award. TruWealth Advisors received the Work/Life Flexibility Award. Gootee Construction received the Training Award. And Edge Financial Services received the Benefits Award.
