Rogart canoeist competes in second Paralympic Games final in Paris

HOPE Gordon finished in fifth place in the KL3 200 metres final of the Paralympic Games in Paris.

The 29-year-old from Rogart competed in her second final of the Games on Sunday morning.

She finished in fifth place when she completed the course in a time of 49.11 seconds.

Laura Sugar of Great Britain claimed gold in a time of 46.66 with Nelia Barbosa from France second in 47.91 and Felicia Laberer of Germany in third place in 48.79.

Yesterday, Gordon won a silver medal in the VL3 Canoe Final when she finished in second place.

Gordon, whose left leg was amputated due to Complex Pain Regional Syndrome, is a full-time athlete based at the British Canoeing Centre in Nottingham.

She became ParalympicGB’s first ever female Para Nordic skier at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games.

She won a gold medal at the Para Canoe World Championships in Duisburg, Germany, in August 2023, clocking a career best time of 56.199 seconds in the women’s VL3 200m race.
