When dealing with shortened titles, you should capitalize words that would normally be capitalized in the full title.
- For a healthy diet, follow the Food Guide. [short for Canada’s Food Guide]
- The report appeared in the Star.
Note: In the examples above, because the word the is not part of the full title, it is not capitalized unless it begins a sentence.
- The Food Guide gives guidelines for healthy eating.
- The Star published a report on the incident.
