Man Utd Secure Deal for Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee
Manchester United have finalized an agreement to sign Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee for a fee exceeding £35m (?42.5m), surpassing his £33.6m (?40m) release clause. This deal is structured with more favorable payment terms, allowing United to pay over a three-year period instead of a lump sum up-front.

The 23-year-old Dutch striker has already agreed on personal terms for a five-year contract, with the option for an additional year, and is scheduled to undergo a medical at Old Trafford this week. Zirkzee's impressive form this season saw him net 12 goals and provide 7 assists, contributing significantly to Bologna's qualification for the Champions League.

Zirkzee, who previously came through Bayern Munich's ranks and had stints with Parma and Anderlecht, made a notable impact in Serie A this term. Despite a modest first season, his current form has attracted significant interest, showcasing his ability to create big chances, attempt dribbles, and regain possession in the final third.

The forward's signing is part of United's broader transfer strategy, which also includes the departure of Donny van de Beek to Girona. The Dutch midfielder's move to the La Liga side was completed for a fixed fee of £500k, potentially rising to £7.6m (?9.1m) with bonuses and a sell-on clause.

As Manchester United aim to bolster their squad ahead of the new season, Zirkzee's arrival marks a significant addition to their attacking options.
