Evelyn City Apartments Meeting Tuesday, Feb. 8th at 6:30

The apartments planned at the corner of Sligh and Nebraska Avenues now have a name that matches the section of OSH where they may be built—Evelyn City Apartments. The developers took neighbors' and city council's comments to heart, and have planned some changes to the development, including:

  • Height reduction
  • Addition of affordable housing
  • Community room
  • Reduced density
  • Working with the city on intersection improvements

Thanks to Northeast Seminole Heights Neighborhood Watch Coordinator Heidi Bissell for taking the lead on this! To learn more about the changes and ask questions of the developers, join us at 7venth Sun, 6809 N Nebraska Ave.

2022 S.W.E.E.P. & Holiday Schedules

The City of Tampa released its Solid Waste Enhanced Environmental Program (S.W.E.E.P.) schedule for 2022. Items must left at the curb no later than 8 p.m. the Sunday before your S.W.E.E.P. week begins. If you aren't sure which zone you are in or want more information on what types of items can be included in your pile, visit the city's S.W.E.E.P. website .

Here are the no solid waste collection days —garbage, recycling, or yard trash—for Old Seminole Heights in 2022. For more information, visit the city's solid waste website .

Additionally, the City of Tampa offers an app to remind residents of solid waste collection and S.W.E.E.P. days.

Do You Have Purple Streetlights?

The color occurs due to a filter malfunction to the LED bulb. TECO will send a crew to replace them if you report it—you need the closest intersection and the 10-digit number on the light pole. Consider taking inventory of all the lights on your block and report them all so TECO can fix them in one visit.
