Khalil Shakir set a season high in receiving yards against New England. It was his first game of the year with more than one catch, bringing him to 75 yards on the season before a Week 8 explosion. Twenty-four of his yards came from two catches late in the game with Buffalo trailing, and he finished with a 103.1 passer rating when targeted.

Miami Dolphins: Jaylen Waddle (89.1)

Miami entered Week 7 with the NFL's top-ranked offense by PFF grade (88.8), but they struggled to keep pace with the Eagles. Tyreek Hill was “limited” to 11 catches for 88 yards, and Waddle recorded his highest yardage total since Week 2 (86).

Waddle averaged 3.94 yards per route run against the Eagles and had an explosive gain of 16 yards late in the first quarter to put Miami within striking distance. He finished the game with a team-high 110.4 passer rating when targeted. Waddle has yet to record a 100-yard receiving game this season, but he does have 19 first-down catches and 10 explosive plays.

New England improved to 2-5 with an upset win over Buffalo. Douglas set a season high in yards and first-down catches while recording his first four-catch game since Week 1. He had two explosive gains totaling 35 yards, including a 16-yard third-down grab in the first quarter. Douglas now has 14 catches on the season and seven explosive gains.

Not only did Baltimore record its first 30-point game of the season, but it was also the team's first 35-point outing since Week 3 of 2022 (37 points). Lamar Jackson notched his first 300-yard passing game since Week 2 of last season (318 yards). Odell Beckham Jr. accounted for 35 yards on two explosive plays. He gained three first downs on five catches and averaged 2.33 yards per route run.

Cleveland scored 20 points in the second quarter of their 39-38 win over Indianapolis, and Elijah Moore led the team with 59 receiving yards. Week 7 marked Cleveland’s first 30-point game in nearly a year, and it was Moore’s first 50-yard game since Week 15 of 2022 (51 yards).

The Rams struggled to contain Pickens, as he turned each of his catches into an explosive play. Pickens tallied three catches for 70 yards in the second half and recorded his second straight 100-yard game. He has also posted nine explosive plays since Week 5 (second).

Josh Downs recorded the first 100-yard game of his career against Cleveland. He had three plays of 20-plus yards, including a 34-yarder and a 59-yard touchdown. Explosive plays accounted for 113 of his yards, and 99 came on third downs. Downs has been heating up over the past three weeks. He finished Week 7 with a perfect 158.3 passer rating when targeted, and it was his second game in three weeks with four first-down catches. Since Week 5, Downs has caught 16 passes for 243 yards (10th) and two touchdowns. He also has six explosive plays in that span (T-10th).

Jacksonville survived a 15-point fourth quarter run by New Orleans to secure the win and move to 5-2. Christian Kirk tied for a game-high 91 receiving yards. He had two explosive gains, including a 44-touchdown play with Tyrann Mathieu in coverage. He averaged 7.7 yards after the catch per reception and 3.03 yards per route run, all while finishing with a perfect 158.3 passer rating when targeted. Since Week 4, Kirk has recorded 302 receiving yards (ninth) and seven explosive plays.

Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy combined for seven catches and 60 yards against Kansas City. They rebounded with 11 catches, 140 yards and seven first downs against Green Bay, including five explosive gains. Sutton recorded two explosive gains in third-down situations. His first was a 33-yard catch on the third play of the game, and his second was an 18-yard touchdown grab. He finished with 76 receiving yards, his most since Week 3 (91), and a 158.3 passer rating when targeted.

Kansas City has won six straight games and sits in first place in the AFC. Rashee Rice has developed into the team’s best receiving threat alongside Travis Kelce. Rice caught his third touchdown pass of the season and has eight first-down catches in the past three games. He recorded a 37-yard gain late in the second quarter and now has an explosive play in six of seven outings this season.

The Raiders struggled to move the ball against Chicago and fell to 3-5 on the season. Jakobi Meyers scored the team’s only touchdown with 1:14 left in the game. He executed a nice spin move to free himself from Tyrique Stevenson and get across the goal line. Meyers recorded a 15-yard catch in the second quarter and now has three straight games with an explosive gain and a touchdown catch. Meyers also has 15 first-down catches in that span.

Los Angeles Chargers: Joshua Palmer (88.7)

Joshua Palmer finished third in receiving yards for Week 7. It was his highest output of the season and his first 100-yard game since Week 11 of last year (also against Kansas City). Palmer finished in the top 10 this past week in yards after the catch per reception (10.0) and yards per route run (3.69). He also tied for second in explosive gains (four) and now has four straight games with at least two explosive plays.

In all, 126 of Palmer's yards in Week 7 came from explosive gains. Since Mike Williams went down in Week 3, Palmer has recorded 12 catches for 270 yards, 10 first-down catches and eight explosive plays. He has more than 60 yards receiving in four straight games.

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys: BYE

The New York Giants defeated Washington to earn their second win of the season. Jalin Hyatt finished with only two catches in the game, but both went for more than 30 yards. Philly rebounded from Week 6’s loss to the Jets with a convincing win over Miami to improve to 6-1. Philly now sits in first place in the NFC and they continue to get elite play from A.J. Brown. Brown caught his first touchdown pass since Week 4 and had two 20+ yard plays for 74 yards (3rd). Both of those plays came with Kader Kohou in coverage and led to goal line opportunities for Philly. Brown found success against Kohou all night as he was able to catch 7 passes for 112 yards against him. Brown now has five straight games with over 125 yards receiving and 2 or more explosive plays.

Washington Commanders: Terry McLaurin (71.5)

Week 7 marked another low point for Washington’s offense, falling flat against a subpar, injury-riddled Giants defense. McLaurin tallied a season-high 90 yards in the loss, with all of his production coming in the second half. McLaurin recorded three explosive plays in the third quarter. Two came with Deonte Banks in coverage, and he finished with four catches for 70 yards against the rookie cornerback. McLaurin has 12 catches for 171 yards combined over the past two games, as well as 80 receiving yards in three of his past four outings.

NFC North

Tyson Bagent led Chicago to a win over the Raiders, the team's second victory of 2023. Moore paced the team with 54 receiving yards and four first-down catches. He recorded a 15-yard gain on a third-down play late in the second quarter. He now has 15 explosive gains on the season and has recorded at least one in six straight games.

Detroit came into its matchup against Baltimore with a 5-1 record as the second-ranked offense in the league (83.7). Baltimore slowed the Lions' momentum, though, by holding them to six points and handing them their second loss of the season. That game ended a streak of seven consecutive contests with 20-plus points for Detroit, dating back to Week 18 of last season. St. Brown recorded his second straight double-digit catch game and has four 100-yard games in his past five outings. He is up to 557 yards on the season (eighth).

All of Thomas’ catches came with Brown in coverage, and his touchdown grab was his first since Week 2 of last season.

Terrell in the first quarter and had 56 yards off 15-plus-yard catches in the first half. Evans caught five passes for 74 yards with Terrell in coverage and finished the game with a 146.9 passer rating when targeted.
