Once or twice a year, the full moon will align perfectly behind the Mauna Kea observatories as it sets in the morning at Hilo Bayfront. Sean and I went to Liliuokalani Gardens two years ago with multiple cameras and lenses to take photos and timelapse the event. This was captured with a 200mm lens. The moon was not enlarged or moved in any way. Three minutes after capturing the moon setting behind the observatories, these paddlers in Hilo Bay paddled across my frame as I was capturing…
