This is why I like to take a turn here and there not having any idea what might be ahead. Someone had recreated an old gas station in front of their home using old signs, an aviation fuel pump and other really cool stuff. I'm not sure if it was there to be explored by people or if I was not supposed to be there but it wasn't fenced in so I stopped and took a few shots. Seen along historic Route 66 in Illinois. Located on the outside, back wall of the Route 66 Association of Illinois Hall of Fame and Museum in Pontiac, Illinois is this Route 66 Shield Mural.
