Oh how we wish we could live in Slim Aarons' world of opulent, sun-bathing jet-setters. Starting in California in the 1950s, Aarons captured the lavish lifestyles of the beautiful young things frolicking in the world's most stunning locales. Decades later, his iconic images make us long for lazy summer days by the pool, bikinis, martinis and Brigitte Bardot.

After growing up in poverty and documenting World War II as an army photographer, Slim Aarons spent five decades capturing unapologetically glamorous pictures of aristocrats, style icons and socialites.

Slim Aarons once described his photographs as, "Attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places." Here, his best photos.
