And the more you do it, the better everyone gets at it. 🙌🏻 These are my travel day tips… 1. Parents workout before the trip. You’ll feel much more relaxed and energized all through a stressful day. Or you can cold plunge (or both, like us!) 2. Pack light. There’s nothing worse than carrying too many pieces of luggage. I do this by prioritizing what we really need, and try my best not to pack anything extra. 3. Use packing cubes. This keeps everyone’s stuff organized! You can pack by category or by person - whichever works best for you. 4. Entertainment. Bring things to entertain the kids. We don’t allow tablets any other time than on the plane, which keeps our boys completely occupied! 5. Snacks. We do fun treats. The “everything your mom tells you not to eat” kind of treats. And we allow the boys to get special drinks on the flight. 6. Gate check the stroller. We probably don’t need a stroller for Quade anymore, but it’s a habit to bring through the airport and check at the gate. Parents traveling with kids under two, when you arrive, always ask if the flight is full. If the flight isn’t full, ask if you can sit next to an open seat. I would often bring our car seat onto the plane and put the baby in it at no extra charge. Now for Kiawah Island! This is our second time here and we highly recommend it for families! We aren’t huge golfers, but there is a big golf community, which is fun. The Sanctuary (Kiawah Resort) offers a pool that overlooks a beach with low tide / safe rolling waves.
