With Taylor Swift arriving in the UK in under a "Fortnight" for a "Cruel Summer" ahead of her sold out The Eras Tour (ok I will stop now) one thing is for sure — Swiftmania is about to hit our shores. Whether you are going to a show, consoling a tween who missed out on a ticket, or not too fussed, by the end of August you will have endured nearly three months of the global superstar.

As someone who has never been a Swiftie, or was even aware of her music a few years ago, I have to say I'm a new fan. After watching The Eras Tour with my eight-year-old, I was impressed with not only for her songwriting skills, but also her whole persona. She is quite natural in her performance style, she allows her hair to get sweaty and frizz up as the show goes on and tends to keep much of her private life private, unless she is using it for lyrics, obviously. As I watched her dance and sing for over three hours I was impressed by the size of her song catalogue, overall stamina and the incredible staying power of that signature red lipstick.

Taylor Swift Red Lipstick: Pat McGrath Lipstick on hand
POPSUGAR UK | Lauren Ezekiel

The red lipstick has become such a part of Swift now that she almost looks unrecognisable without it. Bright, bold and a true red, it personifies the power pout. It has long been known she swears by British icon Pat McGrath Labs Liquilust Legendary Wear Matte Lipstick in Elson (£32). But before you try to order it, this liquid lipstick is like gold dust and almost impossible to come by, although you can get a swipe of it if you go into a Pat McGrath counter. According to one of McGrath's assistants we spoke to this week, it is looking like May 2025 before the brand has a global restock. However they recommended if you want the same shade then it's worth trying Pat McGrath Labs Matte Trance Lipstick in Elson (£36). Although a slightly different texture, it is another true red with blue undertones, making it universally flattering. He also revealed he is asked about 30 times a day for Swift's shade in the London Selfridges store, so I would urge you to buy it now whilst stocks last and before Swiftmania really takes hold.

If you can't get your hands on either of those in the past Swift's longtime makeup artist Lorrie Turk has also shared a handful of red lipstick favourites that could be a good indicator of what she uses on a regular basis, including, but not limited to: Patrick Ta Major Beauty Headlines Lipstick in That's Why She's Late (£28), Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colour in Uncensored (£22), and Lisa Eldridge True Velvet Lipstick in Velvet Ribbon (£27).

Just remember if you want to give it the Swift staying power, always line the lips with liner to prevent blending and apply a dab of setting powder with your finger along your pout to help it withstand the test of time.
