A series of interweaving vignettes spoof the Ten Commandments. In one story, a skydiver (Adam Brody) forgets to pack his parachute. When he lands, he doesn't die, but gets stuck in the ground, causing a media circus and jeopardizing his relationship with his girlfriend, Kelly (Winona Ryder). Later, Kelly begins a tumultuous relationship with a ventriloquist's dummy. In another story, a doctor (Ken Marino) obsessed with pranks accidentally kills a patient and winds up in jail.

Critics Consensus

Although a few of the sketches that make up The Ten are humorous, the uneven and random tone of the film cause it to fall apart.

Jens P i can't imagine a world in which anyone could even begin to find this funny. you have to be lobotomised to be able to make any connection at all between the ten commandments and the films. except perhaps for the MRTs. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Ten very idiosyncratic and inter-related stories, every story is inspired by each of the Ten Commandments. Each one with its own quirk and hilariously skewed take on biblical events in time and how each commandment came to be. Paul Rudd is our narrator of the movie and a riot he is. Before each story we see a quite amusing intro and sort of cut scene as you will where we build up the anticipation of the next wacky ride we take. In the end we come together to break out into song, isn't that how every biblical story ended in history?🤷🏻‍♂️😂 The very comedically abled cast is the life raft for this anchored and stagnant type of story line that is this film. Really the only fresh take on the subject matter in recent memory was delivered here. It's just pure indie goodness in my opinion. Know what you are getting into really as this is on the exact level of crappy B movie but quite honestly that's some of the best guilty pleasure titles you can stumble upon. What can i say Indie's have always been very risk reward. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member This is the most underated comedy i've ever Seen. But i'll only recomend it for David Wain fans Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
