Prostitutes Cody (Madeleine Stowe), Anita (Mary Stuart Masterson), Eileen (Andie MacDowell) and Lily (Drew Barrymore), work a saloon in the Old West. They decide to flee the bordello for a better life elsewhere, but trouble follows close behind. They're tailed by Pinkerton detectives, Cody's savings are stolen by a bandit (James Russo), and Eileen is wrongfully jailed for bank robbery. Generic western. One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone makes a period piece & doesn't bother with historical accuracy. The makeup is wrong, women simply did not wear their hair down, even the men's hair styles are too modern & too many of them have shaved faces, the ones who do have beards aren't wearing them in styles that would have been popular at the time, everything is brown & colorless & Victorians were very big on use of brightly colored paints & wallpapers & richly colored clothing, even the poorer classes, the electric appliances are too advanced for the time period & lack the open wirining, the streets should be cobbled, Wrong kind of trees for Oregon, etc.
