Three months after a one-night stand with Isabel Fuentes (Salma Hayek) in Las Vegas, New York City real estate developer Alex Whitman (Matthew Perry) learns she is pregnant. Despite being a terminal bachelor, Alex is drawn to Isabel, and the pair marries. Isabel's father, Miguel (Tomas Milian), suspects Alex has bad intentions, and the couple finds themselves pressured by both their families. When Alex is offered a promotion, he is torn between his new life in Las Vegas and success in New York.

More than just your basic romantic comedy. Salma Hayek and Matthew Perry bring true soul to this movie. It portrays Salma's characters' Hispanic culture in an authentic and respectful manner. It's heartwarming without being too cheesy and fake felt. I usually can't stomach most romantic comedies but this one was trully special. P.S. watched it for the first time in 2024.

One of my absolute favourite rom-coms. Perry and Hayek have serious chemistry, and the story is sweet, gentle and romantic without being mushy or too silly with the comedic elements. They're both utterly convincing in their roles as emotionally distant WASP Alex and free-spirited but family-oriented Isabel. I don't know how anyone could dislike this film, it's so satisfying.

I watched this because I'm a Salma Hayek fan, not so much Matthew Perry. There was nothing objectionable about it. The characters were likeable enough. Pretty standard RomCom affair. The script was a little weak.
