Smart, funny, and profoundly melancholy, Inside Llewyn Davis finds the Coen brothers in fine form.

Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online ... the pretentiousness is overwhelming, which is unfortunate because the outline has potential to be a great Coen brothers film but ultimately becomes weighed down by its own emotions. Rated: C+ Sep 6, 2017 Full Review Larushka Ivan-Zadeh metro.co.uk The direction is pitch-perfect; the characters unique and eccentric yet fully realised and the script, woven with absurdist comedy, a marvel Rated: 5/5 Sep 6, 2017 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire They beautifully and convincingly recreate the streets and coffee shops where he dwells, and seem intoxicated with the look and feel of those surroundings. Jun 19, 2016 Full Review JD Duran InSession Film Boy oh boy, is the music of this film remarkable. I will probably listen to the soundtrack on repeat for the next four months. Aug 13, 2024 Full Review Branyan Towe Loud and Clear Reviews Despite playing this character who is very flawed, isolated and distant, Isaac’s charisma still works its way through Rated: 5/5 Jul 29, 2024 Full Review Justine Smith Vague Visages As many of the Coen Brothers’ films discuss the intersection between destiny and will, Inside Llewyn Davis complicates matters by featuring an artist who is not open to the possibility of success. Aender S By far not the strongest by the Coen brothers, still watchable though. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/18/24 Full Review Andrea C Dramma che naviga sapientemente a metà strada tra viaggio on the road e romanzo di formazione. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/06/24 Full Review B L The Aug 03, 2016 audience review nails it for me! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/05/24 Full Review Jonathan G Still on a Coen high, and this most definitely did not disappoint. The Coen style is still beating its chest, and the color palette of this is cold and brilliant. Definitely one of Oscar Isaac's career BEST performances, along with Carey Mulligan's amazing performance. This film is cold and lonely, and is an underrated masterpiece. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review Honest D I absolutely love this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/23/24 Full Review Jonathan H Great vocals, sweet music, funny dialogue and scenes, but not a very gripping or inspiring movie. Maybe that was the point? Didn't really feel like a Coen brothers movie, but that's okay. Great performances, just not a lot going on in the story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
