Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times This is a messed-up movie that throws away what few opportunities it has to entertain us, and gets totally lost in a plot that starts as comedy and moves through farce on its way to paralysis. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 6, 2018 Full Review Michael Bronski Gay Community News (Boston) Besides the awful script, part of Jinxed!' s problem is it doesn’t let Midler come across as well or strong as she is able. Audience Member I LIKED IT - SHE's funny he's gorgeous I was laughing so hard- it's silly - I could totally relate to all of it except lounge singer job but the shenanigans and w younger guy Ken Wahl not too many women WOULDN'T drop everything for that hunk but I was told I'm 2 inches taller than him ... Just think if he was 6'2 built like THAT - damn but shorter than me - buzzkill But As far as movie I lived it one of my fav scene's (besides Ken in a towel that's a given) is Bette M following Harold's letters especially the one to the ‘painted lady' -hooker in the window exchanging Harold's fetishes preferences ( ‘Did he have you dress up in a baby doll outfit and a wig they start laughing She agrees that he had her do the same thing and then she goes well guess he's DEAD And start laughing hysterically you'd have to see it... Although I thought that Midler was gonna have a heart attack in that movie only at the end she was relaxed she's running away with Ken... it was cute movie and he was gorgeous Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member A total cinematic fail. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member As a Bette fan I had to see it. It was okay. Thank heavens Disney picked her up in a 5/6 picture deal & saved her so we could enjoy her for many years to come. This flick would have been better, straight to VHS. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Not funny as much as it's excuse for Bette milder to sing, dance, and be herself. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Jinxed is the funny and cute story. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Cameo by Kathryn Kates - she's amazing!
