Even though it's the studio cut it's still a genius bit of parody too bad Marty was so "unique" looking had he been like Michael York then all the reviews would be rave.

This movie is pretty much a No. I was able to tolerate this for 37 minutes, but that's about it. The jokes are all unoriginal and head shakingly dumb. The only recent it gets two stars is for the scenery and costuming.

Mel Brooks, this is not, but Feldman's parody of classic desert epics & Hollywood adventures certainly has its moments, thanks to its game cast, including a delightfully campy Ustinov and York relishing his 'blonde, do-no-wrong hero' role with extreme glee, a few amusing gags, such as a Keaton/Chaplin-style prison escape sequence & the 'Screw Harder' scene, and Morris' bombastic score, which includes a very catchy, though of course raunchy, theme song that will get stuck in your head.
