Desmond Ryan Philadelphia Inquirer Vibes is a harmless, painless romp but it's an instance of a sincere attempt at screwball comedy that simply got screwed up. Rated: 2/4 May 21, 2013 Full Review Michael Wilmington Los Angeles Times Vibes is a low-vibration romantic comedy about two incompatible psychics falling in love on an Ecuadorean treasure hunt, and everything in it seems nine or 10 beats off. Rated: 1/5 May 21, 2013 Full Review Jay Boyar Orlando Sentinel Luckily, Vibes has those quirky stars, a wacky threesome who give off good vibes under any circumstances. May 21, 2013 Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) The film abandons all pretenses of a supernatural farce, and becomes an action parody. [Full review in Spanish] Jun 22, 2022 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins This Ken Kwapis-directed adventure film is worth a look, especially for fans of (not so) perilous journeys and silly excitement. Rated: 6/10 Sep 8, 2020 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews There's little doubt that Vibes is at its best in its fun, easygoing opening half hour... DJ T Cyndi and Jeff are fantastic in this film. It's witty with hilarious moments. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/14/24 Full Review Kevin F Clever, fast paced, great cast, and absolutely hilarious. Cyndi Lauper is fabulous as Sylvia Pikel, a psychic with a long list of bad boyfriends. Jeff Goldblum is at his best, and Peter Falk does one of his best turns. Great supporting cast and howling funny dialogue make this a classic example of how wrong the critics can be. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review James D Fun, colorful, unique, quirky, and very 80's sci-fi rom com adventure. Moves at a good pace. Some jokes are very dated and kinda groaners but overall charming and about as entertaining as a basic cable sitcom. I love the outfits, scenes, and locations that kept me interested. Cindy Lauper and Jeff Goldblaum were just being very Cindy Lauper and Jeff Goldblaum the whole time which is great if you are fans of them, but if not, probably not as big of hit for you. If you are looking for something light and very nostalgic and unapologetically 80s this is a great one. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/22/23 Full Review Chris M A truly all but forgotten 80s rom-com classic. There was a fad that rom-coms often had supernatural twists, which I loved. Break out of the trope of just boy meets girl. The story works, the cast has great chemistry and the comedy works. The villain is a slight problem, Julian Sands is great but the way the villain is written is a tad one-note. In fact it might have down right awful if anyone else besides Julian Sands played the character. He saves a villain that could have been generic to something that at least works for the story with his charm and style. Overall, it's a near perfect rom-com with a twist and more people need to see this all but forgotten classic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/11/23 Full Review Dominic G Splendid showcase for the astronomical talent of Candi Lauper. Roger Ebert is clearly just jealous because he didn't write *Girls Just Wanna Have Fun* and hey, I can see his point of view. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/09/23 Full Review crafter Best movie I ever seen. It saved my marriage and my wife loves me again. Before I saw Vibes, I couldn't preform in bed, but now after watching Jeff Goldblum's 1988 cult classic, I'm the most perfect version of myself. The vibes are real.
