1) why MLS now at this stage in your career?

DIOGO: The club showed a lot of interest. I was looking to exit the league I was in and take a step forward in my career. I think this league is growing a lot which I believe will be a great thing for me.

2) what do you know about Utah / RSL?

DIOGO: I don’t know a lot about Utah. I know a little about the team because I had the pleasure of playing with Arango at Benfica. We follow each other on Instagram so I would see the goals he has been scoring.

3) please describe your conversations with Pablo and Kurt about the team’s culture and philosophy?

DIOGO: Basically we spoke about their style of play and how they work as a team. That was important to me in choosing a team because it matched what I was looking for.

4) what are your goals with this team?

DIOGO: My objective is to work hard, help the team and the club as much as possible, and obviously provide goals and assists to lift RSL to the highest level.

5) have you seen much MLS action?

DIOGO: I’ve watched some MLS games since I know some players in other teams. Every now and then I would catch a game.

6) what is the leagues reputation?

DIOGO: It’s growing more and more as big name players are coming here. This league has everything to take the next step.

7) what message do you have for the supporters here? What is your impression of the home support you’ve seen in highlights?

DIOGO: I am very impressed by the training facility and the stadium. I’m looking forward to seeing the fans cheering with us in our stadium.

8) how would you describe your style of play?

DIOGO: My style of play is holding the ball. I like to receive it between lines, assist my teammates, and score goals. To play an attacking game.

9) what is your favorite part of football?

DIOGO: Goals. No doubt. My relationship with scoring goals.

10) how would you describe the feeling of scoring? Assisting? Winning a game? Winning a trophy?

DIOGO: It’s a great feeling especially when we score and win. Obviously the main objective is winning games, but being able to contribute goals and assists raises morale.

11) did you know RSL was in Portugal in February, near your hometown for training camp?

DIOGO: Yes, I heard they were there and played a friendly against Brondby. They said they liked it there and found it very beautiful. Makes me happy as a Portuguese.
