3.2. Age Limit:
Candidates who wish to seek admission into these courses shall have completed 15
years of age as on 31-08-2024 with an upper age limit of 22 years (Born in between
31.08.2002 and 31.08.2009).
3.3. Criteria for Selection:
The candidates will be selected based on merit in SSC or equivalent examination,
Presidential order, region and social status. In case of tie, the age of the candidate shall
be taken into consideration.
Selection Process:
• Percent of marks/Total Marks obtained in SSC or its equivalent examination
will be considered in the order of merit for Seat allotment.
• In case of tie, the marks/grade point obtained first in Science and later
Mathematics and Social, respectively will be taken into consideration for tie
breaking.
• In case if tie still continues, the age of the candidates will be taken into
consideration and the older candidates will be given preference.
Note: ICSE students need to enter average of three subjects (Physics, Chemistry
and Biology) for science and two subjects (History & Civics; Geography) for
social subject.
4.0 Reservation of seats:
4.1 Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to Rural Area:
Seventy five (75%) of the seats in diploma courses are reserved for the candidates
who have studied for a minimum of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal
(Rural) areas and Twenty five (25%) seats are reserved for the candidates who have
studied in Municipal area.
4.2 General Reservations:
• The rules of reservation shall be followed as per the guidelines issued by the
Government of Andhra Pradesh from time to time.
• The rule of reservation will be followed as detailed below.
i) Open Category : 50%
ii) Backward Classes : 29% of seats are reserved under this category.
(BC-A – 7%; BC- B – 10%; BC-C – 1%; BC-D – 7%; BC-E – 4%)
iii) Scheduled Caste (SC) : 15%
iv) Scheduled Tribe (ST) : 6%

v) Other Reservations (Special Categories):
a) Children of Armed Personnel (CAP):
Reservation to the extent of 2% of the seats shall be available for the
children of ex-servicemen and defense personnel including Border
Security Force and Central Reserve Police.
Subject to the condition that;
▪ Candidates whose parents are domicile of Andhra Pradesh will alone
be considered as per the judgment of the Hon’ble High Court of
Andhra Pradesh in W.P.NO.17095, 17950, 17952, 19150 and others
of 2006.
▪ The candidate shall also submit a certificate from the Director, Sainik
Welfare Board/Zilla Sainik Welfare Board as to their eligibility to be
considered under this quota specifying the category to which the
applicant belongs with attested copies of the documentary evidence
for claim.
▪ The decision of A.P Sainik Board or its nominee is final and binding
on the Candidates in this regard.
The order of priority and merit under this category is governed by G.O.
Ms. No. 192, Edn.(EC-2) Dept., dated 26-08-1994 and as amended by G.O.
Ms. No. 370, Edn.(EC-2) Dept., dated 18-10-1994, (Annexure –II).
b) NCC (National Cadet Corps):
Reservation to the extent of 1% shall be available for candidates of this
category. The priority for consideration will be as per GO. Ms. No. 21 HE
(TE-1) Dept., Dt. 13- 05-2002 and other guidelines revised by Govt. of AP
from time to time, (Annexure –III).
c) SPORTS:
Reservation to the extent of 0.5% (½%) shall be available for
candidates of this category. Certificates issued by various organizations
constituted by Central/State Government to conduct the event will alone be
considered under this category. The participation in games and Sports
before the qualifying Examinations will only be considered. The priority
under this Category will be fixed as per the rules in vogue at the time of
admissions, (Annexure –IV).
d) Physically Handicapped (PH):
Reservation to the extent of 5% for Physically Handicapped as per
G.O. Ms. No. 27, WCDA & SC (Prog.II), Department, dated: 14.05.2023.
However candidates with defects like Muscular dystrophy, Deaf and Dum,
Blindness and mentally retardation are not eligible for admission
(Annexure –V).

If there is more than one eligible candidate in a particular priority
in any of the above four special reservation categories, the selection
shall be based on the merit.
Inter conversion of seats among the special reservation categories
is not applicable. If sufficient numbers of candidates are not available to fill
the seats reserved for special reservation category, they shall be filled with
candidates of general pool of that reservation category.
Note: The counselling/verification of certificates under special
categories (PH, CAP, NCC & Sports) will be held in the presence of
authorities concerned and seats will be allotted as per the priorities indicated
by the officers concerned.
vi) Economically Weaker Section (EWS) – 10% (supernumerary seats)
vii) Reservation of seats for Women: 33.33% of the seats shall be reserved in
favour of women candidates from each category.
5.0 Allocation of seats:
Among the total seats, 85% of the seats are reserved for local candidates and 15% of
seats are Un-Reserved and will be filled on merit basis. Among the local 85 percent, the seats
shall be allotted on 42:22 ratio among Andhra University (AU) region (Districts of
Srikakulam, Parvathipuram Manyam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Alluri Sitharama Raju,
Anakapalli, Kakinada, East Godavari, Konaseema, Eluru, West Godavari, NTR, Krishna,
Palnadu, Guntur, Bapatla and Prakasam) and Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) region
(Districts of Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, YSR,
Annamayya, Tirupati and Chittoor).

5.3 Local Status Certificate:
Candidate claiming local status in Andhra Pradesh (AU/SVU) by virtue of his/her
migration from the State of Telangana shall upload scanned copy of Local status
certificate issued in Form-II by Tahsildar of concerned along with their application (As
per G.O. Ms. No. 171, General Administration (SPF & MC) Department, dated 20-11-
2017).
6.0 Online Registration Fee:
The Online application and Counselling fee is Rs.800/- for General candidates (for
SC/ST/PH candidates the fee is Rs.400/-).
• The applicant has to select the Rupay Debit Card/UPI/Debit Card/Credit Card
(Visa/Master Card)/Internet Banking option to pay the fee and follow the online
instructions to complete the payment of the fee.
• Processing charges of payment gateway as applicable are chargeable from the
candidate only.
However, the candidates are allowed for online registration up to three days after
last date of registration with late fee of Rs.1,600 (Rupees one thousand and six hundred
only) for General and BC candidates and Rs.800 (Rupees eight hundred only) in case of
SC, ST & PH (Differently abled) candidates.
• Once payment made, it cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Hence
applicant should go through the information bulletin carefully regarding eligibility
criteria before proceeding to the payment.
7.0 Fee structure (For the Academic Year 2024-25):

9.0 Important Notes:
• APFU intended to impart education to students, undertake research and extension
activities. Hence, University does not guarantee any employment to the
students who completes the course.
• APFU reserves the right to modify or cancel the notification without any
prior notice.
• Candidates are required to read the information bulletin thoroughly before
applying.
• The guidelines issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh from time to time
shall be followed scrupulously including the reservations for EWS.
• The University shall send SMS to the applicant’s registered mobile or to E-mail ID
for the purposes related to counselling. Hence, the candidates are informed to
mention their personal mobile numbers but not the mobile numbers of relatives,
friends, net/online/Xerox centers etc. Once submitted, the mobile number and
E-mail ID cannot be changed. It is observed that sometimes due to technical
problems SMS and e-mails are not reaching the candidates. Hence the candidates
are advised to visit the University website for updates. In case of any doubt the
candidates are advised to call 0866-3500560 and Mobile No. 8985318321.
• The selected candidates for admission into Diploma courses of APFU shall have to
pay the prescribed fees immediately at the time of admission (The detailed fee
structure is given above).
• The candidate who secures a seat should submit all the certificates in Original
along with the prescribed fees at the time of admission either through online

counselling or at the time Manual/Special/Mop-up counselling.
• The certificates of the candidates under special categories (PH, CAP, NCC &
SPORTS) shall be verified by the authorities concerned. The University will
not interfere in the process of preparation of priority/merit lists. The
University allots seats to the candidates based on the priorities indicated by
the competent authorities.
• All the documents should be uploaded in PDF format and photo in JPG format
only.
• In case, the information furnished or the certificates uploaded by the candidates are
found to be false, the University will take appropriate action against the individuals
concerned and his/her application will be summarily rejected.
• The candidates are advised to visit the University website www.apfu.ap.gov.in or
www.aptonline.in regularly for updated and latest information about counselling.
• Student can approach any of the nearest AP online/Helpline centers for technical
guidance.

Note:

Municipal area (urban) and seats will be allotted in 25:75 ratio (25-Municipal:75-

2. If any student studied in different schools during the required 4 years, the student should

liable for change. Final list of polytechnics and number of seats may vary at the time of
counselling for admission into the Diploma programme offered by Andhra Pradesh
Fisheries University.

CHILDREN OF ARMED PERSONNEL ETC., (CAP) CATEGORY
The Priorities under this category are as follows:
Priority No.1: Children of Armed personnel, BSF personnel and CRPF personnel killed
in action and Andhra Pradesh Police Personnel killed in extremist violence.
Priority No.2: Children of Armed Forces personnel, BSF personnel and CRPF personnel
disabled in action and invalidated out from service on medical grounds.
Priority No.3: Children of Armed Forces personnel, BSF personnel and CRPF personnel
who have received the Gallantry Awards.

Note:
The Children of Ex-Servicemen are directed to bring the following original
certificates at the time of spot admissions/counselling.

The following clauses shall be taken into consideration in the course of Sports & Games
Admissions as per GO. MS. No. 20, Dt. 24.08.2009 of Youth Advancement Tourism &
Culture (Sports) Department.
a) Preference shall be given to the performance and particiapation in individual
disciplines over team disciplines within a priority.
b) Date of Birth shall be tallied proportionately to the category of age group vis-
à-vis the concerned sport. The date of birth certificate issued by the Board of
Secondary Education/similar boards of Central/State goverments only shall be
entertained as proof of age.
c) Admission shall be given to the candidates on their current sports
performance, which will be to a maximum of 3 years.
d) The sports qualification, acquired between the period from the 10th
/inter/diploma/degree examination, as the case may be, and the respective
common entrance test/couselling shall be taken into consideration for
extending sports quota to meritoriuos sprots persons, subject to the maximum
period mentioned at provision(c) above.
e) Representation of in the approved games and sports after notification/common
entrance test/online counselling shall not be considered.
f) In case of a tie between two or more candidates, for the sports quota
reservation for the same seat, SSC marks will prevail.
g) No preference shall be given to the candidates having represented more than
one game or sport. The priority will be decided based on the highest
entitlement from among the priorities admissible to a particular candidate
based on his/her represeantation in different games/sports.
h) The decision of sports authority of Andhra Pradesh is final and for scrutiny of
claims by sports authority of Andhra Pradesh, the candidates shall submit
information as called for, in the format prescribed by sports authority.

Reservation to the extent of 5% for Physically Handicapped as per G.O. Ms. No. 27,
WCDA & SC (Prog.II), Department, dated: 14.05.2023.
The Priorities under this category shall be as per G.O. Ms. No. 130 Higher Education
(TE-1) Department dated: 6.9.2000 and G.O. Ms. No. 56 Women Development, Child
Welfare & Disabled Welfare (DW) Department dated 02.12.2002.
Persons with Disabilities Act 1995 states that a person with disability means a person
suffering from not less than 40% of any disability as certified by medical authority.

iii) Orthopedically handicapped:
• Evaluation shall be done based on locomotors disability, mobility component
and stability component as described in the G.O. Ms. No. 56 stated above.
• Permanent physical impairment due to amputation.
• Dwarfness.
• Persons suffering from Mental retardation, Blindness, Deaf and dumb,
Chronic lung, heart, kidney and liver diseases, muscular dystrophy are not
eligible for admission into diploma programmes.
• No concessions will be allowed during study and will be granted on the ground of
disability.
