New twist to this caller...called indicated that her husband was going to be on my street, how do you know where I live anyway, and that they wanted to give me a estimate on home improvements...they have changed their methods....We are on the do not call list????

Just trying to sell crap no one wants using heavy handed techniques. I'm sure they sleep at night, but not sure how. Evidence that even though most people are decent and good, there are slimeballs.

This slimeball telemarketer uses a robo-dialer. It predials many numbers even before a boiler room employee is available to make the pitch. What this means is that many times, when you pick up, there is no one there. They're all busy annoying someone else with their pitch.
