The Wimbledon’s men’s semi-finals are almost upon us (Friday, July 12), with defending champion Carlos Alcaraz set to go head to head against Daniil Medvedev on Centre Court, looking to become the first to book his place in Sunday’s final.

Novak Djokovic, meanwhile, was handed a place in the final four after Alex de Minaur pulled out of their quarter-final due to injury.

Djokovic recently sat down for an interview with the BBC after beating Holger Rune. Djokovic had taken exception to the crowd chanting Rune’s name.

In the BBC interview, Djokovic is asked how he feels about the crowd after having some time to reflect on what happened.

"Same," he replied. The reporter then asked if he feels he gets the respect he deserves at Wimbledon, with Djokovic responding: "Look, as I said in the post-match interview, I thanked all of the people.

"Most of the people in the stadium tonight were respectful and I thank them and I know that, after watching tennis all day, it's not easy to stay. So, I was thankful. I don't take it for granted.”

As the highest-earning tennis player in history, Djokovic is hardly short of money but, if he successfully defends his title at Wimbledon, he will find himself £2.7m richer.

The Serbian is a multimillionaire already just from his on court exploits, having racked up 23 grand slam victories – seven of them at Wimbledon, including the last four championships.
