The Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Equipment Manager and Equipment Technicians in performing routine preventative maintenance and general repairs on Golf Course Maintenance equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school education diploma or equivalent, trade schools or secondary education or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of basic engine mechanics and maintenance
  • Working knowledge of golf course operations and practices helpful
  • Be 18 years old and be able to operate a motor vehicle and hold a valid driver’s license

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Assists the Equipment Manager and Equipment Technicians in appropriate preventative and curative maintenance required for all golf course equipment maintenance operations
  • Completes daily service records
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate parts inventory
  • Maintains shop area in a neat and orderly manner, ensuring that the equipment is kept clean, organized, and provides a safe working environment for staff members
  • Must be thoroughly trained in the proper procedures of each task before performing such tasks.  Must follow the guidelines in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual for each specific task
  • Required to wear personal protective clothing and/or use protective equipment to comply with established safety operating standards

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 50 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
