Summary:   
 The Coordinator liaises with tournaments to provide appropriate resources, benefits, support and guidance.  Establishes centralized education, training, best practices and data, fostering organizational and event efficiencies. The role will require administrative, organizational support of tournaments and programs as well as performing onsite liaison role between tournament staff and WTA staff.   
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Report to VP of Tournament Relations and liaise with entire Member Relations and TR teams to understand and be knowledgeable on WTA strategic plan and goals. 
  • Utilize this knowledge and emotional intelligence/skills to coordinate the business issue communication and be a contributor to solving issues.
  • Work closely with Tournament Relations, Supervisors, Tour Ops teams to help with pre-tournament preparations and organization focused on meeting tournament standards, player services requirements & overall success/sustainability of the events.
  • Onsite travel to 125 level events to facilitate final operational preparations, standard requirements, member survey, tournament tracking system.   
  • Work closely with Tournament Relations, Supervisors, Tour Ops teams to review, track and communicate issues regarding Tournament standards improvements post events.   
  • Coordinate the implementation of TR, Supervisor, Tour Ops related initiatives, including but not limited to:
    • Ad hoc research/projects as per tournament/WTA needs such as: best practices, orientation courses, tournament standards & operations manual, etc.
    • UNO, CES tournament education, on-boarding, troubleshooting.
    • Communicate, plan, troubleshoot with Crionet team, TR, Supervisor, the pre-tournament business operations requirements for the 125 tournaments (live scoring, streaming setup, production requirements, etc.).  
    • Plan, coordinate with vendor and tournaments the distribution of tournament net signs 
    • Prepare the CEO Letters for tournament program/ magazine; work in conjunction with Communications
    • Manage WTA Ads specifications for 125 tournament programs, coordinating WTA side with Creative team for final production 
    • Send tournaments the most updated Marketing & Branding guidelines/ manual/ campaign for their asset preparation and final execution 
    • Coordinate Tournament Awards and Anniversaries 
    • Research and communicate travel/visa regulations, restrictions that may affect normal operations for tournaments, players, WTA staff, WTA partners/vendors, etc. 
    • Communicate & report back to VP TR Americas when traveling at a tournament regarding standards, business operational issues 
    • Administrative:
      • Participate in weekly staff meetings, providing onsite player feedback and delivery key education topics and resources
      • Completion/submission of related onsite reports, expenses
      • Other duties as assigned
 
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years business communications experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Three years professional or University tennis experience preferred
  • Proficient with WTA Rules and conversant in the ITF Rules of Tennis.
 
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to debate issues, drawing from a broad knowledge base.
  • Knowledgeable of LATAM region operational government regulations, geopolitical evolution, and local sports ministry development
  • Multi-lingual with fluent Spanish written and spoken required
  • A team player who respects and interacts well with members being served.
  • Adapts easily and shows initiative 
  • Computer skills using word processing, excel, publishing & graphics, and email programs

Up to 40% Domestic and International locations

Position Type/Work Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hours a week. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday, plus weekend travel and response to onsite/event driven needs as required for events

The employee is required to sit for long periods; use close/distant vision; hear using the telephone; bend at the waist and knee; communicate verbally and electronically with worldwide constituency; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
