Overview
This position’s primary responsibility is to operate forklifts throughout Nationwide Arena during building changeovers. Materials being moved include but are not limited to: dashers walls, hockey glass, sport floor covering, basketball court, football turf, staging equipment, etc. This position will be tasked with properly storing of all above equipment before, during, and after changeovers.
Summary of Duties
- Safely Operate forklift to move conversion equipment to and from storage areas during building changeovers.
- Manage storage of all equipment in spaces used for building changeover.
- Manage storage spaces and equipment to ensure a smooth conversion.
- Ability to plan and prepare the equipment needed for the next steps of the conversion.
- Load and unload materials and deliveries from a variety of trucks, trailers, etc. and move them to and from storage areas, loading docks, etc.
- Assists in event set ups and conversions when needed.
Experience Required/Desired
- Forklift certification. 2+ years experience operating forklifts in fast paced environment.
- Must be able to operate other various types of mechanical equipment including, but not limited to: scissor and boom lifts, power tools, housekeeping equipment, etc.
- Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and push 100 pounds on wheels. Ability to stoop, bend, walk and handle equipment on ice. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- This position will require the availability to work all shifts including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as determined by the Nationwide Arena event schedule.
The Forklift Operator position will be evaluated based on the following objectives
- Safe and successful movement and storage of changeover equipment before, during, and after each building conversion.
- Ability to plan and prepare the equipment needed for the next steps of the conversion.
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Troubleshooting abilities and simplifying tasks.
