Job Summary

The Corporate Sr Paralegal will play an important role in supporting the Legal Department in various aspects of legal operations and contract management, including assisting attorneys with contract preparation and management, intellectual property registration filings and portfolio management, corporate governance, regulatory and other matters. This role requires a strong understanding of legal principles related to contracts, intellectual property, corporate governance, compliance, and litigation.

Essential Functions

  • Administer and oversee general corporate matters (e.g., formation and qualification of entities; maintenance and updating of corporate books and filings etc.) and other regulatory matters (e.g., filings and disclosures of state and local permits or registrations).
  • Assist with ensuring company-wide compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including those related to intellectual property, data protection and licensing.
  • Provide support to the Legal Department and Risk Management in litigation matters.
  • Draft and review a wide range of contracts, including vendor, service, seat license, event license, venue agreements and ensure accurate contract management including the tracking and reporting of contract status and key obligations. Oversee administration and operation of contract management platform; organize and maintain legal documents, contracts, and records in an efficient and secure matter, ensuring compliance with document retention policies and practices.
  • Support the protection and management of the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, service marks and copyrights. Conduct and oversee trademark searches, registration applications and other filings. Assist in intellectual property enforcement strategies and manage intellectual property-related queries and disputes.
  • Assist with special projects within the Legal Department, including purchase and sale and merger transactions, process improvements, legal technology initiatives and continuing legal education efforts.
  • Participate in and support other types of legal projects.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certification by an ABA approved Paralegal Training Program

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) Political Science, Law, or a related area.
  • Paralegal certification strongly preferred
  • 4-6 years Paralegal experience in a corporate legal department or law firm required
  • Experience in the entertainment industry is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to clearly convey legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive with a strong work ethic
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and experience with legal database software
  • Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate agreements
  • Basic understanding of intellectual property law and experience managing IP portfolios
  • Certification by an ABA approved Paralegal Training Program

Pay Scale: $77,108 - $101,204
