The 2017 SAG Awards took place last night (Sunday, January 29), and it was certainly a star-studded and emotional evening. There were some big victories for the cast of Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black, and Hidden Figures, as well as countless powerful speeches from the stars. There were several moments last night that will undoubtedly go down in award show history, like when Julia Louis-Dreyfus took the stage to talk about her upbringing as the daughter of an immigrant, or when Moonlight's Mahershala Ali gave an important speech about persecution and acceptance. Overall, the night was proof that acting and activism do align, as Kerry Washington so brilliantly pointed out.
