Leverkusen two games from history
Leverkusen can complete the second leg of an unprecedented treble by beating Atalanta to lift the Europa League in Dublin on Wednesday.
Xabi Alonso’s side are already Bundesliga champions and face Kaiserslautern in the German Cup final on Saturday. Remarkably they remain unbeaten all season – a run that now stretches to 51 matches.
Atalanta could still finish as high as third in Serie A but will be hoping to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat by Juventus in last Wednesday’s Coppa Italia final.
They will be without two key players in defender Emil Holm and midfielder Marten De Roon, who have calf and thigh injuries respectively.
In contrast, Leverkusen were able to rest players for their final Bundesliga game, which resulted in a 2-1 win over Augsburg that meant they finished 17 points clear of Stuttgart at the top of the table. Their momentum should carry them to victory in a game with three goals or more.

Wirtz worth a shot to find the net
Florian Wirtz has been a key player for Leverkusen this season – contributing 18 goals and 15 assists in all competitions – and he looks an overpriced 14/5 shot to score in the final.
The 21-year-old has been recovering from a thigh injury and hasn’t started a game for almost three weeks.
But he brushed off the cobwebs with a valuable half-hour appearance at the weekend and could be ready to deliver his best on the big stage.

Both teams have scored in each of the previous five Europa League finals and the trend should continue with two attack-minded sides in opposition.
Leverkusen look worthy 17/20 favourites to win in normal time but they are far from watertight and Atalanta should have their chances to get on the scoresheet.
One of the unsung heroes for Leverkusen has been former Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka, who has racked up 47 appearances in all competitions. The Switzerland midfielder loves to try his luck from long range and has posted 14 shots on target in 33 Bundesliga appearances.
Xhaka will be keen to make his mark on the final and looks a tempting 19/10 wager to register a shot on target.
