Uruguay are two matches away from being crowned champions of South America for a record 16th time.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have impressed throughout the tournament and are unbeaten in four matches, winning all three group games before defeating Brazil on penalties in the quarter-finals.
The former Leeds United manager has made Uruguay a force to be reckoned with and they are clear favourites to win their semi-final against Colombia in the small hours of Thursday (kick-off, 1am BST).
Here, we look at what Bielsa and his side have done and some of the best betting angles for those who believe the trophy has their name on it.

Bielsa works a transformation
Uruguay have really caught the eye at the Copa America. Marcelo Bielsa has made them a tactically astute team with high pressing and high turnovers at the forefront of their ideology going forward.
They won all three group matches – against Panama, Bolivia and the United States – before eliminating Brazil on penalties after a goalless quarter-final.
Uruguay have made the second-highest number of tackles per game (24.3) and have also had the second-highest number of shots per game with 15.5.
They are the highest scorers in the competition with nine, three more than the favourites Argentina, and at 3/1 are a good value bet to lift the trophy.

Nunez proving influential
Darwin Nunez has often been hit or miss for Liverpool, however he is beginning to come to the fore for his country and Bielsa continues to use him as a key part of his team.
Nunez has scored twice in the first four matches of the tournament and now faces a Colombia side he has scored against twice, in October 2023 and November 2020.
Bielsa uses him to press from the front and force the opposition into errors, and his tireless workrate often earns him a starting place.
Colombia have been another impressive team but we’re backing Nunez to repay his manager’s faith in him and score in this semi-final.
