Portugal eye perfect record

Roberto Martinez’s Portugal team have already confirmed their place in the round of 16 as Group F winners after beating Czechia and Turkey, and they should make it three wins out of three tonight.

Portugal also won all 10 of their qualifying matches, keeping nine clean sheets, and they have conceded just once in their opening two matches in Germany.

Georgia have been a joy to watch, putting in admirable performances in their opening two matches, and they were inches away from registering their first major tournament win when Saba Lobjanidze blazed over with the final kick of the game in the 1-1 draw with Turkey with the goal at his mercy.

Their wastefulness in front of goal has cost them in this tournament and, against arguably the strongest defence in the tournament, they may struggle to find the net in Gelsenkirchen and so a Portugal win to nil looks a strong bet.

Goals at a premium

With their job already done in terms of winning the group, Martinez could ring the changes and give his fringe players some valuable minutes, so we may see a lower scoreline than expected.

The likes of Rafael Leao, Bruno Fernandes and captain Cristiano Ronaldo could all drop to the bench, allowing the likes of Matheus Nunes, Joao Felix and Goncalo Ramos some valuable game time.

Georgia can reach the last 16 with an unlikely victory, however they have not shown enough quality in front of goal, with star forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia yet to hit the target from just two shots.

If Georgia fail to seriously test the Portugal defence, the under 2.5 goals market shows potential.

Ramos can take his chance

There is a big opportunity for those on the fringes of the Portugal team to force themselves into the starting line-up and PSG striker Goncalo Ramos is one who could take his chance.

The 23-year-old has an excellent international goalscoring record with eight goals in 13 appearances and showed he can cope with the pressures of tournament football when scoring a hat-trick against Switzerland at the 2022 World Cup. He looks like a good bet to score at any time.

Our BuildABet bet builder is completed in the cards market. Georgia are likely to have their work cut out defensively and they could fall foul of the referee, with Giorgi Kochorashvili a tempting option to be shown a card.

The Levante midfielder has already picked up one yellow in the group stages and no player in the Georgia squad has given away more fouls in Germany than the 25-year-old with five.
