Yamal eyes remarkable double

Euro 2024 finalists Spain and England provide the top four players in the betting for the player of the tournament award, with teenager Lamine Yamal the 2/1 favourite to win the prize.

Yamal could be in for some 17th birthday on Saturday, with the final taking place the next evening at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.

He scored a sensational goal in Spain’s 2-1 victory over France in Tuesday’s semi-final in Munich and is one of three Spain players in the leading quartet in this market.

Midfielder Rodri is 3/1 after a series of commanding displays in midfield, while at 5/1 is Dani Olmo, who scored the winner against France and heads the Golden Boot standings with three goals and two assists.

England’s hopes of winning this honour are led by Jude Bellingham at 10/1, although he will need a big performance in the final, especially if he is to overtake Yamal, who is also odds-on favourite to be named the young player of the tournament.
