Euro 2024 outright odds: Bookies still backing Spain

Spain are odds-on favourites to win the European Championship for a record fourth time ahead of Sunday’s final against England in Berlin.

The bookmakers price Luis de la Fuente’s team at 13/20, with Gareth Southgate’s men 6/5 outsiders as they bid to become European champions for the first time.

Bookies forecast reign for Spain again

England’s dramatic semi-final victory over the Netherlands has left the nation’s bookmakers unmoved about the outcome of Sunday’s final against Spain.

Luis de la Fuente’s side are 13/20 favourites to win the trophy for the fourth time, which would give them outright possession of the record for most wins that they currently share with Germany.

England, of course, are bidding to win a major men’s tournament for the first time since the 1966 World Cup, but are 6/5 outsiders in the eyes of the odds-makers.

Spain have won all six matches at the finals, accounting for Croatia, Italy and Albania in the group stage before eliminating Georgia, hosts Germany and France.

England’s progress has been less consistent but there can be no questioning the resilience they have shown in the knockout rounds in coming from behind to beat Slovakia after extra time, Switzerland on penalties and the Netherlands with a stunning 90th-minute winner from Ollie Watkins.

Sunday will mark the first time England have appeared in a men’s final on foreign soil but it is hard to back against them somehow finding a way to win for the fourth match running.
