Golf betting tips: Scottish Open, Evian Championship and ISCO Championship
We have a 60/1 shot for the Scottish Open

There are two co-sanctioned PGA Tour and DP World Tours events taking place this week, the Scottish Open and ISCO Championship, while it’s major time on the LPGA circuit with the Evian Championship.

Rory McIlroy makes a first start since his US Open heartbreak as he attempts to defend the Scottish Open title at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick.

Across the Pond, Keene Trace Golf Club hosts the ISCO Championship, which was previously known as the Barbasol Championship, for the sixth year in a row, while a packed women’s field heads to France for the Evian Championship, the fourth major of the campaign.

Scottish Open golf betting tips

Repeat win on cards for Rai

Plenty of focus will be on the likes of Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Ludvig Aberg heading into Thursday’s opening round, but there is plenty of value further down the betting and Aaron Rai is of huge interest at 45/1.

The Englishman won at The Renaissance Club in 2020, edging out Tommy Fleetwood in a play-off, and he arrives here on the back of some consistent form on the PGA Tour.

Rai tied for second at the Rocket Mortgage Classic before ending up in a share of seventh at last week’s John Deere Classic, results that have lifted him to a career-high world ranking of 53.

One huge improvement in the 29-year-old’s game over the past two events has been his putting, an area of his game that often lets him down.

He started working with a new putting coach before the Rocket Mortgage and has ranked 10th and first in strokes gained – putting at two events since.

Always stellar from tee to green, Rai now has confidence on the greens and this makes him a huge danger as he bids to claim one of the three Open spots available this week.

Tip: Outright winner – Aaron Rai @ 45/1 with bet365

Detry can challenge at North Berwick

Thomas Detry has yet to win at this level but there have been signs in recent weeks that a maiden triumph is not far away, after he tied for fourth at the US PGA Championship and was joint-14th at the US Open.

The Belgian ace went close to winning the Scottish Open in 2021, losing in a play-off, and his ranking of sixth in strokes gained – putting should help him contend again.

Tip: Outright winner – Thomas Detry @ 60/1 with bet365

Evian Championship golf betting tips

Furue set for major breakthrough

The fourth of the year’s five women’s majors takes place this week and the Evian Championship could prove to be a defining moment for Japan’s Ayaka Furue, who has yet to land one of the slams.

A strong all-round game is needed to negotiate this tricky French course, and Furue ranks third in driving accuracy, 12th for greens in regulation and 20th in putting average.

Furue posted results of T7-T6-T2-T8 and T19 before missing the cut last time out, but that performance is easily forgotten and she can bounce back in spectacular fashion.

Tip: Outright winner – Ayaka Furue @ 20/1 with bet365

ISCO Championship golf betting tips

Ryder can end PGA wait

The ISCO Championship looks wide open, with several of the world’s leading players competing in Scotland and there is every chance that Sam Ryder can finally break his PGA Tour duck.

Having turned professional in 2012, the 34-year-old was scratching around for form before posting a much-needed T34 at last week’s John Deere Classic and that can give him the boost he needs before heading to Kentucky.

Ryder has previous this event, finishing seventh and third on his first two attempts, and given the fact this tournament is likely to be being decided by who has the hottest putter, it bodes well that the American has the highest putting average in the field of 15th.

Tip: Outright winner – Sam Ryder @ 50/1 with bet365
