THP: 20-year-old killed and 4 more including a youth injured in Robertson County crash

A 20-year-old has died and four others, including a child, were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Robertson County on Saturday according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Eligh Holmes is identified as the person killed in the crash at East 22nd Avenue and Woodland Street, according to THP's preliminary report. The accident was reported just before 6 p.m., according to the Robertson County Sheriff's Office.

A 20-year-old passenger in the 2020 Dodge Challenger that Holmes was driving was injured as were two adults and a 10-year-old boy in a 2021 Honda Civic, THP's preliminary report states. The extent of the injuries weren't immediately known.

The Challenger was traveling west on East 22nd Avenue and attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone and hit the Civic traveling east, based on the initial investigation.

The Challenger ran off the left side of the roadway after the initial collision and hit an unoccupied 2016 Chevrolet Malibu that was stationary in a driveway.

Neither the driver nor passenger in the Challenger were wearing seatbelts, the preliminary report states.

The driver of the Civic and the youth were wearing seatbelts; the adult passenger was not, according to the report.

The reports states charges are pending for the passenger in the Challenger based on the outcome of the investigation.
