Kara is the Deputy Travel Editor at The Sun, with nearly a decade of experience in online journalism.  She joined The Sun in 2019, specialising in Travel news and Travel features and helps manage the award-winning travel team which was named National Tabloid Newspaper Travel Section of the Year 2024. She handled breaking news during the Covid pandemic, dealing with the complex traffic light system and live closures of holiday destinations. Kara has also worked on the exclusive Best of British series, creating long-form features covering UK destinations such as Folkestone and Margate with exclusive, first person video. She covers other topics such as travel advice, flight cancellations, holiday tips and tricks, and flight safety as well as reviewing travel items and hotels. Kara has travelled the world during her career, having been to nearly 50 countries including far-flung destinations such as Puerto Rico, South Korea and Columbia. Before joining the Sun, Kara previously worked at Cosmopolitan, covering real-life topics, as well as at Mail Online and Express on the lifestyle team. She has also freelanced for New York Times, PopSugar, Metro, Vice and World of Cruising.
