Who is Kai Cenat?

Born in New York on December 16, 2001, to a Haitian father and Trinidadian mother, Kai began posting on social media during his school days.

His dream was to be a comedian or a professional dancer.

He posted short comedy skits on Facebook and Instagram, much to the amusement of his classmates at Frederick Douglass High School, where he graduated in 2019.

He briefly attended Morrisville State College but dropped out to focus on streaming.

Kai soon moved to YouTube, with his first post in 2018, with the title "MY FIRST YOUTUBE VIDEO!! (Introduction)".

He was discovered by fellow content creator Fanum and joined the streaming group Any Means Possible (AMP), in 2020.

The group is known for prank and challenge videos, as well as gaming streams.

Kai lives alongside the other members of the group in their content house in AtlantaGeorgia.

Just a few days ago, the internet sensation shared his emotional side with his followers in a live stream while playing Elden Ring.

After failing to defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon in the tough game, Kai was seen shedding tears during the live stream.

The first-time player of Elden Ring is now finding it difficult to complete the game in one single live stream.

Why is 'Kai Cenat shot' trending?

In December last year, Kai Cenat was reportedly injured while working on a project.

It soon surfaced that Kai had been "severely injured" during a video shoot for AMP, and wouldn't be able to stream at his usual times.

Several social media users reported that the streamer had been hospitalized because of his injuries - sending some fans spiralling.

"Kai Cenat Suicide on Live", "Kai Cenat Shot" and "Kai Cenat Dead" all started to trend on social media.

The news was revealed by an X account called "Kai Mafia Updates", which has been partially blamed for the confusion.

The post read: "Kai Cenat will not be streaming today at 8pm as he's been severely injured during an amp shoot and is hospitalized.

"Confirmed by @KaiCenat."

Speculation subsequently spiralled from the word "shoot", an obvious misunderstanding that should have been cleared up after Kai responded to the post himself.

Kai went live the same night he was discharged from hospital and revealed exactly what had happened.

What happened to Kai, the YouTuber?

Kai was removed by the New York Police during a fan meet-up at the Union Square in Manhatten which eventually turned into a riot.

In an online post, the Twitch streamer said he would be hosting a "huge giveaway" and promised his millions of followers he would distribute laptops, gaming consoles and other gadgets.

The post went viral and thousands of people flocked to the park to attend the giveaway.

Violence soon broke out and the people soon started fighting and threw various objects at each other and the police.

Many people got injured in the chaos as cops reached the scene to tackle the situation.

They soon removed Kai from the venue - and later charged him with "inciting a riot and unlawful assembly among other charges".

What is Kai Cenat famous for?

A post that went viral last month suggested that a woman had accused him of paying for sex.

The Twitch star responded: "There is some dumb s**t, clout chasing weird a** s**t going on right now, bro. But it's all right though, it's all right, chat. I'll see you in court."
