The Man I Feel Like A Woman singer has just headlined Glastonbury, and will continue her Las Vegas residency later this year.

But there was a time when the country superstar - who has sold over 100 million records - was convinced she'd never perform again.

Shania, 58, opened up to The Sun in 2017 about contracting lyme disease from a unique type of tick while horse riding.

Upon returning to the stage for the first time in years, she said: “It’s a very debilitating disease, very degenerative.

“So I was very lucky at all that it affected the nerves on my vocal cords, not the vocal cords.

“I lost my voice for several years and I could speak but I couldn’t yell. I could never yell for my dog or my son or whatever.

“I also felt that I was never going to make another album — that was probably my truth. It was devastating. I really grieved about that. It did bring me down and I struggled with it every day.

“It was very depressing and I was really sad about it but I still had my writing and my writing is my first love, really, over everything.

“I was only going to be a writer and not the performer.”

Before she was diagnosed Shania suffered dizzy spells on stage and would lose her balance, adding "I was afraid I was gonna fall off the stage.

"I was having these very, very, very millisecond blackouts, but regularly, every minute or every 30 seconds."

She couldn't sing for seven years before having an operation that "got me back onto the stage".

The star spent more time training her voice again which she says was “a very long, drawn-out process”.

And she was left with a scar on her neck and a deeper voice.

But she would go on to say: "I’m probably most proud of not giving up on my voice.

The Still The One singer finally released her second album in 2017 titled Now.

She looked incredible as she took to stage at Glastonbury last weekend and is set to do the same at London's Hyde Park.

Standard tickets have sold out, but ALL Accor experience packages are still available.

The That Don't Impress Me Much singer previously revealed that she follows a gruelling diet, and only eats liquids before her shows.

In an exclusive chat with The Sun, she said: "I only drink fluids all day until after the show.

“I drink my food, so I blend my food. Lots of blended spinach and blueberries.”

The Still The One Singer has also been praised for her glowing skin, saying she uses a homemade cleanser to take off her makeup, which she makes by mixing olive oil and sugar.

She religiously applies sun cream every day, and told The Cut that this has made a "huge difference" to her skin.
