MALLORCA LIVE FESTIVAL REVIEW

MALLORCA Live Festival 2023 perfectly showcased why the island is fast-becoming a must go-to location for music lovers.

Conveniently positioned in the Calvià region, the venue offers festival-goers five stages with non-stop music amid a picturesque setting.
Whether you want to casually pop in to see one of your favourite bands, or stay out until 6am after partying all night - this festival is for you.
Free to roam without the effort of a huge walk between stages, fans had the opportunity to squeeze in seeing as many bands as possible - whether that was local stars or some of the world's biggest names.
Despite 65,000 attendees packing out the festival, the ideally-sized area stopped fans from feeling cramped.
Instead, the bars, food stalls and bathroom facilities worked well to cater to crowds - without the threat of long queues.
Mallorca Live Festival is in its sixth year and it's only getting bigger and better.
Northern Brit delights The Kooks was an opening night highlight of the three-day event.
Performing their greatest hits and new music from their album Inside In/Inside Out, they proved the understated pop-rock band were able to captivate thousands of fans with their dulcet tones.
The evening ended with German DJ Sven Väth, who effortlessly showed why he's a legend in the industry.
For me, Black Eyed Peas were the must-watch of the festival thanks to their charming on-stage presence and banging tunes.
Crowds were jumping up and down as they performed some of their 00s classics, including Let's Get It Started, I Gotta Feeling and Pump It Harder.
The same day the island experienced first-hand the Quevedo phenomenon and the long-awaited live performance by German trio Moderat, sharing an eclectic lineup with electronic music icon Peggy Gou, The Dandy Warhols, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club or Majorcans L.A. and Dollar Selmouni. On its final day there was no winding down as festival-goers turned out in their droves for the incredible experience of The Chemical Brothers.
It followed live performances by Bomba Estéreo, !!! (Chk Chk Chk), Viva Suecia, La Plazuela, The Reytons or Yendry, amongst others, stood out, and the activity was frantic in the fun Baleària Stage with Palma’s famous bar Flexas as stage host and performances by Samantha Hudson, Locomía or the union of Hidrogenesse and the Calvià Municipal Music Band.
Fans who had booked to stay at INNSIDE by Melià hotel were within a short ten-minute walk from the festival - no matter what time of day they happened to be arriving back.
Mallorca Live Festival 2024 is already in the works with bands to be announced later in the year.

The trio began performing again in 2018 after an eight-year hiatus.

The 23-date tour got off to a successful start as crowds went wild when they performed their greatest hits at Mallorca Live Festival.

Headlining as part of the three-day event where 65,000 people packed out to see some of Spain's biggest bands, the trio were joined by Filipino musician J. Rey Soul, 25, who has replaced original member Fergie.

The singer looked incredible in a leather crop top as she performed stunning vocals in front of a cheering audience.

will.i.am entertained crowds by attempting to speak Spanish on stage as he revealed the country has a special place in the band's heart.

Black Eyed Peas' album Translation, was a Spanish-filled project featuring collaborations with the likes of Shakira, Maluma, Ozuna, Nicky Jam, and Becky G.

Now they are back with their ninth studio album, Elevation - intended to be elevation of Translation.

Black Eyed Peas were performing at the sixth Mallorca Live Festival at Calvià’s Old Aquapark where festival-goers were treated to five stages celebrating world-famous talent and local upcoming stars.

British band The Kooks were the headline act on night one, with Vetusta Morla and Bad Gyal taking the festival by storm on its opening day.

Meanwhile closing the show was The Chemical Brothers, with their first 'live' visit to the Island.

Other highlights included electronic music icon Peggy Gou, The Dandy Warhols, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Bomba Estéreo and the Calvià Municipal Music Band.

Kicking off their world tour, the Black Eyed Peas said: "We are known for ELEVATION.

"This is the next stage for us, higher and worldwide. This is more than a tour, but an opportunity to reunite, connect and bring the one love movement to new heights.

"Let’s reach for the stars and make some memories. Part 1 is all yours!"

Fergie previously admitted hopes of reuniting with the group in the future after officially leaving in 2018.

She told SiriusXM: "I've always just been the little sis and part of groups and like that and I got to have a moment with 'The Dutchess' and such and amazing four albums with The Peas and hopefully more.

"I've always been a kind of misfit that didn't really fit in any particular character perfectly, so it's just a mishmash, but when you put it all together it really makes sense if you know."
