Who is Alexina on MasterChef 2021?

According to Linkedin, Alexina is the head of the Frozen at the Mindful Chef meal delivery service.

The chef has continuously stunned the MasterChef judges this series – with her liquorice panna cotta dish proving to be a big hit.

In the first episode of finals week, her dessert was labelled the standout dish of a five-course tasting menu.

As one of the most consistent competitors, Alexina’s quarter-final dessert impressed Jay Rayner.

The tough restaurant critic said that he would have been impressed “if it had been served during an episode of MasterChef: The Professionals”.

Despite working in the food industry, Alexina studied English language at The University of Cambridge but claims her real passion and motivation has always been good food.

The London-based finalist can be found on Instagram under @alexinaanatole with 3.5k people following her as she posts delicious dishes, captioned with funny anecdotes about her life and personal experiences as a chef.

Anatole took to her Instagram ‘reels’ section to discuss her inspiration and influences.

She explained the reasoning behind her choice of lamb as her signature dish to viewers.

“I had an Indian flatmate and I asked her to teach me how to cook Indian dishes. I would teach her baking, so we did swaps where she’d teach me how to make dal and I’d teach her how to bake red velvet cupcakes and Victoria sponge.”

Alexina has a lot of experience with cooking, from working in a fishmonger whilst still being at school, to testing out each of her recipes on her university housemates during her time at Cambridge.

“I am fascinated by flavour and how it appears across cultures and countries”.

She cites food writers and chefs Samin Nosrat and Niki Segnit as her inspirations.

What has Alexina said about being on MasterChef?

Alexina told Instagram that she is an avid fan of the show, having watched every season for the past 10 years.

Giving her followers some advice from her time as a viewer and contestant in the competition, she said, “The most important thing is strategy, focus on flavour first.”

She also discussed her fellow contestants on the show, praising their abilities.

“Having known these guys they’re all absolutely lovely people. It makes for an exciting final week of MasterChef.”

Speaking humbly on her MasterChef experience Alexina told The Sun, “[It was] simply, one of the best things I’ve ever done.

"In a year that’s felt like Groundhog Day for many, it’s been incredible to push myself out of my comfort zone, do something I love and meet such wonderful people, both contestants and crew.”

Despite filming for the competition ending in Autumn, Alexina has been sworn to secrecy about the show’s winner until the finale airs.
