IT'S arguably one of the most popular high-street fashion stores.
But when it comes to its name, people are getting it wrong on a regular basis.

The Matalan TikTok page shared a video of a store front, writing over the top: "Our name is Matalan but we also go by..."
The next slide then had "Mataland" written all over it.
"Special shout out to Matt & Alan too," they added in the caption.
And in the comments section, people admitted they have been guilty of using the wrong name in the past.
"OMG I call it Mataland," one wrote.
To which Matalan replied: "You're part of a very big club!"
"My mother in law called it Mataland, she also says Primart," another laughed.
"Told my son we were going to Mataland and he was so excited, until we pulled up," a third commented.

"I used to work for you and called it Mataland!" someone else admitted.

To which Matalan replied: "Unfortunately, she's a fibber!"
"I worked at Matalan for 6 years way back when I was at college/uni my dad called it Mataland all the time I was there!!" another laughed.
