A MUCH-LOVED Scottish rock band have been hailed as "legends" by grateful parents after announcing an unusual gig next month.

The LaFontaines - made up of Kerr Okan, Jamie Keenan and Darren McCaughey - are set to belt out top tunes including Under the Storm and Alpha at a soft play centre on June 9.

And the best part? Kids can play in the inflatable park while you listen to your favourite songs.

Frontman Kerr, from Motherwell, and his TV presenter wife Storm Huntley welcomed their son Otis in 2022.

The 35-year old has since admitted that trying to juggle gigs and kids can be a "problem" - especially for fans.

He said: "Do you love live music but have kids?

"Who watches them when you go to gigs? It's a problem, innit Childcare is so expensive.

"I also have this issue on the other side. I'm a dad that likes to rock.

"So I thought about it. What if we could gig the way we always gig, and the kids could come along and be entertained?

"Not by us playing Baby Shark and Wheels on the Bus, but by something they'd be buzzing on like a giant, massive inflatable park.

"Problem solved."

The quirky gig - hailed as "music for grown ups, soft play for kids" - will take place from 12-1pm at Inflata Nation in Glasgow's Kinning Park.

We drove three hours to the UK’s biggest soft play but it was so worth it

Kerr added: "You get to come and see your favourite band, which has to be us, we are the only band playing - and the kids get to bounce about for an hour.

"No childcare needed, it's during the day and it's as cheap as it could possibly be."

With typical concert tickets setting music fans back anything from £50 to £100 nowadays, the £10.99 price tag for adults and kids over four definitely sounds reasonable.

Meanwhile, tickets for youngsters aged three and under cost just £6.99.

So it's no surprise The LaFontaine's announcement clip has been a huge hit with parents, racking up more than 60,000 views across social media channels.

"This is such a wonderful way to make music inclusive", gushed one.

A second claimed: "This is truly the best thing a band has done in so long."

Someone else said: "Ohhhh it’s happening, day time gigs becoming a thing."

A fourth wrote: "I love you for this, might have to travel for this."

A fifth added: "Whoever had this idea is a legend! It’s sold out, so you should defo do another slot."

"This is actually a genius idea", echoed a sixth.

Meanwhile, a dad pleaded: "Please let this become a thing going forward. Just about to have my first wee one and this would be incredible when they got old enough."

And if you were worried about being able to hear the music from the inflatables, don't stress as the band said: "100%. We’ve made sure of it!"

But many other mums and dads were "gutted" to miss out on the gig-friendly gig as it sold out so quickly.

If you didn't bag a ticket, there's still a chance to see the band in action this year - but you may need to call in a babysitter.

The LaFontaines will perform at the Barrowland in Glasgow on September 13, with tickets going on sale this Friday.

It comes after the three-piece announced they will also be performing an intimate gig at HMV in the city centre on June 16.

The small show will celebrate the release of their fourth album Since You Made a Move - a whopping five years after their last one, Junior, dropped.
