WITH the dreary summer weather, gardeners are looking for cheap and effective ways to spruce up their outside spaces.

In the Aldi UK Shoppers Facebook group, two ladies shared their recent purchases.

Joanne Milligan posted a picture of her buy and the caption read: “Got my flamingo today! So colourful!

“£12.99. I normally buy more plants but with the weather being terrible in Scotland im holding off!”

The flamingo she was referring to was from the Belavi Tall Garden Bird Statue collection being sold by Aldi.

Joanne received hundreds of comments, with one suggesting she needs to name the statue.

She replied: “I have her name is Flo!”

Whilst many people were quick to offer their opinions on how good the statue looked in her garden, many pointed out the mistake she had made.

One wondered: “Are the legs on the right way round?” Another chimed: “I was thinking that it’s feet are wrong way around.”

Someone who had also bought the same Flamingo wrote: “I got one today and the feet definitely face forwards,” and added a photo of her feature.

Someone else joked: “Paha!! He doesn't know if he's coming or going…”

Another comment read: “He is a backward flamingo.”

Julie Mills had also purchased one of the bird statues from Aldi.

She posted a photo of hers with the caption: “Love the peacock from Aldi, recommended by someone on the group thanks.”

New in Aldi

Lots of people commented on how “lovely” the statue looks in her garden.

And someone offered some advice: “I have bought this but not put it in the garden yet.

“Just a piece of advice it will go rusty very quickly once it gets wet.

“So I now paint all my metal ornaments with yacht varnish.

“Either paint it on or you can get it in a spray can and never leave out over winter.”

The bird statues are said to “add some flair to your garden”.

There are three to choose from; flamingo, peacock and heron.

They are each priced at £12.99 and only available in Aldi stores.

The product description online reads: “Upgrade your garden with this Belavi Tall Garden Bird Statue.

“This fun and decorative piece will look great in your outdoor space.
