And answering the question in a video on his TikTok page, Paul finally set the record straight.

"A big question I get asked a lot, 'Where do you store bread?'," he began.

"If you put your bread in the fridge, it will stale three times quicker because you're drawing all of the moisture out of the loaf."

As for where Paul himself keeps his bread, he said: "Well to be honest, I just put it in a brown bag and leave it on the side!"

"Did you know this about putting bread in the fridge?" Paul captioned the video.

However, many people in the comments weren't convinced by Paul's suggestion.

"I say you're wrong," one wrote.

"I keep mine in a sealed bag in the fridge - it keeps much better in rather than out."

"Nah don’t believe that." another added.

"I left bread in the fridge for a week past its date and it was still fine."

"I’d rather it be stale than mouldy," another argued.

"I keep mine in the fridge and it stays fresher longer," someone else said.

While others revealed their own storage solutions for their loaves.

"The best thing is a beeswax wrap," one wrote.
