A MARRIED couple with a 27-year age gap revealed the backlash they have received.
Lindsey Hutchings, 29, met her 56-year-old Gary online and they were engaged after just five months of dating.

The couple first began chatting on the phone when Lindsey was 19 and after two months, she flew from California to Oregon to see Gary.
They officially tied the knot in 2020.
Gary spoke about the judgement he receives from online trolls as well as the accusations that Lindsey is a gold digger.
"Trolls online have called me a paedophile or said that Lindsey is after my money. I don't have any money," he explained.
“Most often, I don’t respond. There’s no point, they know it's not correct. They're just saying it to try to hurt people."
He pointed out that is relationship with Lindsey as always been legal and consensual.
“If I respond, I tell them my wife has been an adult from the moment I met her," Gary said.
He explained that they always get a lot of attention when they are out in public.

“We always have eyes following us. Some look amused, some angry, some in admiration," he told What’s The Jam.
“People aren't happy with the idea of us, but when they see us in person, there’s no doubt we truly love each other."
Gary pointed out that some people will always find a reason to hate on others.
“You can't let other people bother you. If it’s not the age gap thing, they’ll find some other reason to judge you," he said.

"It's sad they aren't concentrating on their own lives."
He also revealed that men often approach Lindsey in front of him, not realising the nature of their relationship.
"People try and hit on Lindsey not realising we're together," he explained.
"In the grocery store, men will flirt with her and she'll grab my arm, snuggle in and show her ring, you can see they get irritated."
Lindsey spoke about what originally attracted her to her older husband.
"At first, I was drawn to his personality and he was very handsome," she said.
"The age gap never came to my mind. As long as it's legal and consensual."
She recalled a particularly awkward moment when a stranger assumed they were father and daughter.
"One time we were going to see Gary's mother in hospital and the nurse called out that her son and his daughter were here," she said.

The couple revealed they are trying to start a family so that Lindsey still has a piece of Gary when he ‘inevitably' passes away before her.
"I'm trying to get pregnant. I want to be a mother with a wonderful man," Lindsey said.
"It doesn't concern me that I'll be around for longer than him. Even with his age, he's healthier than a lot of people.
"He's taught me so much in life. I'm ready to take on the responsibility."
Gary already has two sons, David, 31, and Tommy, 27, who Lindsey has a good relationship with.
"Gary having sons my age is pretty wonderful, they're my family, they feel like brothers," said Lindsey, who works as an adult entertainer.
"I don't try to be their mother but I give them advice as family."
Gary explained that he had no intention of having any more children later in life until he met Lindsey.
"She wants to be a mother and I can't deny her that, I'm healthier than most people in their forties," he pointed out.

"That's an important part of the conversation, if something was to happen to me, she would have a piece of me.
"We discussed that before we got together, the inevitability of me going before her."
