SHE'D decided to splash out on some Stanley cups as a treat for her grandkids.

And while she thought she'd grabbed a bargain with a multi-pack on Temu, she realised her error as soon as they arrived.

Her husband took to TikTok to share a video of the woman in hysterics as she opened the parcel.

"I'm catching her mid-laugh right now," he began.

"So you ordered the grandkids those big Stanley cups with straws and tops so they can be all nice and have nice drinks out by the pool?"

He then told his other half to "open sesame", at which point she pulled a miniature green Stanley cup dupe from the box.

Struggling to hold back her laughter, she said: "Wait, wait. It's got a top, a straw...

"And the thing about it is I thought I was doing so good!"

She then pulled out more of the cups in orange, purple and pink.

Her husband continued to mock his wife for her mistake as he placed one of the cups on a table and zoomed right in.

"This is what she saw on the video..." he laughed.

"What a great cup that is, honey.

"I love that.

"Wow, I mean, look at that!"

He then zoomed out, showing just how small the little cups were.

"Look at what Mama Rags ordered (it's a Temu fail)," he wrote over the top of the TikTok.

"Gets funnier as it goes!"

The comments section was quickly filled with people laughing at the situation, with some even admitting they'd made the same mistake.

"Girl I did the same thing lol thinking it would be good for my small kids to drink out of!" one wrote.

"Boy did I have a laugh!"

"Been there, done that! Temu," another added.

"I done the same thing," a third commented.

Why is Temu so cheap?

TEMU exploded onto the scene in late 2022, with people all over social media raving about the low prices.

The company is a Chinese-owned digital marketplace - essentially an online shopping app where people are connected to the retailer directly while the app takes care of the shipping element.

The frenzy over the app is not completely unfounded either as it offers a wide variety of products, including fashion, make-up, electronics and furniture.

According to a report from the US House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Temu takes advantage of a trade loophole that allows the company to ship duty-free goods directly to the US.

The loophole is called the de minimis exception and it means they can ship goods valued up to $800 (£643) to the US without it being inspected or taxed by US customs.

Temu connects customers directly to manufacturers and only manages how the items are sent to customers.

It means Chinese vendors can essentially sell their products directly to customers and ship it without building a network of warehouses across the globe.

By doing this, they cut down on huge costs and ensure the product itself isn’t marked up extra.

While many of the products seen on the Temu app are from brands with extensive, original collections, many more are dupes of designer brands.

"My temu fail was purchasing an artificial plant and it ended up being a big wall decal!" someone else laughed.

"Reading all the way through the description AND reviews is an absolute must with Temu," another giggled.

"Those are adorable!"

"I have learned this lesson a couple of times!" someone else admitted.

"Now I always read the measurements!"
