But now despite everything being reopened her son was addicted to the device and didn't want to get off it.

She added: "Our 2020 babies being iPad babies," as she hit her head in frustration.

The mum revealed her son had a tooth taken out and was in pain, hence wanting to give him the iPad, but she revealed everytime she does it makes him go crazy.

Brittany continued: "now that he's four, that game, makes him nuts dude."

Now when they try and give him the game it 'bites them in the a**e' as he becomes obsessed.

"Let me be the first to say I regret the iPad," she captioned the post.

Mum's Filthy Car Cleaning Goes Viral!

The clip quickly went viral on her TikTok account @brittneynolte with over 1.5 million views and 74k likes.

People were quick to take to the comments sharing similar stories and revealed how they stopped the iPad cycle.

One person wrote: "Preschool teacher here, iPad babies don’t know how to play with others or to play with toys. Slowly back down the time he has it. Introduced him to the world."

Another commented: "It feels counter-intuitive - but children need to be bored. Boredom produces creativity, imagination, inquisitiveness, and problem solving. As a teacher I have trouble reaching the iPad kids."

When can children use an iPad?

The recommendation for giving children iPads or other tablet devices can vary among healthcare professionals, but there are some general guidelines supported by pediatric associations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Here are some key points:

  1. Age Appropriateness:
    • Under 18 months: The AAP recommends avoiding the use of screen media other than video chatting.
    • 18-24 months: If parents want to introduce digital media, they should choose high-quality programming/apps and use the media together with their children to help them understand what they are seeing.
    • 2-5 years: Limit screen use to one hour per day of high-quality programming, and parents should co-view media to help children understand and apply what they see.
    • 6 years and older: Place consistent limits on the time spent using media and the types of media. Ensure that media does not take the place of adequate sleep, physical activity, and other behaviors essential to health.

It’s a parenting battle sometimes, especially for long car rides .. I’m like “he can be just like the rest of us! What’d we do when we were kids? LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW!” Lol," replied Brittany.

"I feel like the answer is very clear," penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: "Parents realising putting screens in front of their kids and not parenting has consequences."

"I cold turkey took mine away cause my son was making me CRY. He was so mean. I stopped doing breaks and fully took it away,” claimed a fifth.
