A MAN has been left fuming after coming home to discover a note left on his car.

Dan admitted he could have imagined getting such a letter stuck on his windscreen when he was a teenager.

But now he's a "40-year-old man", the situation was more unusual.

He took to TikTok to share a video after coming back to his vehicle after a few days away to find the handwritten letter.

"When I was 18, did I get notes on my car?" he said.

"Yeah, because I parked in silly places.

"Of course I did. I'm 40, nearly 40, late 30s, if you want to.

"And I've got a note on my car. I parked in a sensible place.

"I parked in a nice part of town because my car is my pride and joy.

"I worked really, really hard to get back on my feet and to try and get myself a car.

"But it's just a normal road. It's a little, just a normal road, not even a cul-de-sac."

He then held up the note, which read: "We are concerned about cars left outside our house for so long.

We have the neighbour from hell who always moves our bins to be petty - so we got the best revenge and watching her reaction was priceless

"Please call at number two to explain your plans or reason for parking.

"If we know you, we can help.

"Thank you."

Responding, Dan raged: "Wendy and Martin, let me tell you something. I don't need your help.

"I've just popped off to Scotland and certainly I don't need to let you know my plans."

He added that he'd spotted a woman looking out of her window at him, and would have been quite happy to speak to her, had she come out of her house.

The Top Five Reasons Neighbours Squabble

One study by Compare the Market revealed the top reason British neighbour's argue

  1. Broken fences - top of the board was broken fences and whose responsibility it was to fix it
  2. Parking: one of the leading drivers of neighbour disputes, with 54.1 per cent of people having issues with people parking in front of their house, parking bay or driveway
  3. Trees - complaints about a neighbour's tree cracking your garden path was also common with nearly half of participants finding it frustrating
  4. Bin wars - outdoor bin etiquette continues to ignite the most furious debates between neighbours
  5. Nosy Neighbours - some people have their eyes and ears at the ready to have a peek causing problems for others

"I still smiled, even though I thought people that put notes on cars are d**kheads, aren't they?" he said.

"If you put a note on a car, you're a d**khead. You've got nothing better going on!"

He continued: "Here's some advice.

"Don't put notes on cars, especially if you've got your own driveway that holds about four cars.

"You don't need to worry about it. You don't need to worry about it.

"I'm not obstructing anyone. I've paid my road tax.

"If you pay your car tax, park where you want. Don't worry about what other people think.

"You can park where you want as long as you're not obstructing a driveway.

"I don't know why people take it upon themselves to decide they own part of the road."

Dan then decided to go and knock on the door of number two, and ask why the note had been left.

When he did so, the woman who answered the door explained that she'd been "concerned" that the car was out there for so long, and thought he might be a "car dealer".

Leaving after sorting it out, Dan said: "She's clearly just very nosy.

"Expects people if they're going to park outside the house, you have to knock on the door.

"You don't have to knock on the door."

Concluding, Dan insisted: "Unless you own the road itself, you've got no business putting leaflets on people's cars.

"You can't just assume that everyone who parks outside your house is a car dealer.

"And even if someone was a car dealer, if they've got road tax they can park where they want - it's a free road.

"It's a free country, and things like this just get my back up."

Dan also said he will continue to park there when he goes away, because "at least" he knows she will "keep an eye" on his car.
